DSC_3116Andrea Gulyás, painter
She has been painting watercolour or acrylic cityscapes of Szentendre since 2012. She takes apart, then reconstructs the motifs of the Baroque Main Square, the steeples, narrow alleys and rooftops of the town. The self-educated painter has been inspired by the constructivist approach of János Aknay, Pál Deim and László Balogh, however, the intersecting planes and the multiple layers of colours that glimmer through each other in her works create a softer, lyrical effect. In her box-like “painting objects” the subtle movement of the planes and the layers of space are almost tangible.
