The Szentendre Home Salon Foundation organizes home salons in order to popularize and patronize fine artists from Szentendre.   The main goal of the Home Salon Foundation is to set up one-day exhibitions at the private homes of individual members. Our experts present the career of the participating artists and the exhibited works of art to the guests of the host family. Besides “grand old men” and “recognized contemporaries”, outstanding but lesser-known young artists are also often invited to our salons.

Home salons are unique events alloying the professional care and precision you can experience at an exhibition hall with the intimate atmosphere of a family home. The host family can select the guests to be invited to the salon. Due to the cosiness of a private flat, the works of art become more accessible, therefore the spectators can imagine the possible appearance of the selected works in their own home. This new form of exhibiting brings works of art closer to the public. At home salons our guests have the opportunity to purchase the works from local artists. The foundation is ready to act as a “middleman” to facilitate purchases.  For further information please click here
 The three artists to be exhibited at a home event are selected jointly by us and the host. Only original works of art are presented. The exhibition is always followed by a quiz compiled by an art historian on the basis of the imparted information. The atmosphere is enhanced by a short performance by an invited musician.
